When not in use the bed may not feel warm to your touch, but your pet can sense the heat coming from the bed. Once your pet lies in the bed it warms to your pet's normal body temperature to keep them cozy warm. The heater is removable and the cover is machine washable. Available in multiple sizes and colors. Indoor household use only, MET Safety Listed. TIP: To test your K&H Thermo-Kitty Bed simply place a pillow or book in the center of the bed. After 15 minutes feel the surface of the bed, it will be warm, not hot. Remember, the surface of this heated pet bed will not feel warm to the touch until your pet is in the bed.
